Established in 2008, Yachtbasen is today one of the most well-established and experienced independent yacht brokers in Northern Europe, with a strong international presence. Since our founding, we have successfully completed more than 3,200 Yacht sales, helping buyers and sellers navigate the market with confidence.
With offices in Denmark and Germany, we handle approximately 200 yacht and boat sales each year, covering all sizes and price ranges – from pre-owned sailing yachts and motor yachts to brand-new luxury yachts.
Our physical presence in Denmark and Northern Germany, combined with an extensive international network, ensures close client contact and professional support throughout the entire buying or selling process – no matter where in Europe or beyond the transaction takes place.

Yachtbasen’s headquarters are located at Marselisborg Marina in Aarhus – one of Denmark’s most attractive and modern marinas in Denmark. The vibrant waterfront setting, surrounded by restaurants and an active sailing community, provides the perfect environment for both work and inspiration.

Thomas van Nord
Is a partner, CEO, and yacht broker at Yachtbasen. With extensive experience in yacht sales, as well as the music, sports, and event industries, Thomas combines business expertise with deep maritime knowledge. He has captained motor and sailing yachts up to 120 feet across Scandinavia and the Mediterranean, making him a trusted expert in the field.
Thomas has also directed the Matchrace Center, owned hotels, restaurants, and conference centers, and competed in regattas. With thousands of nautical miles logged in both single-handed and family sailing, he brings unmatched hands-on experience and insight to every client interaction.
Janni Baltzersen
Is the heart of our Aarhus office and is typically your first point of contact at Yachtbasen. She manages daily communications in Danish, German, and English with clients near and far. Janni oversees boat viewings and coordinates all aspects of the buying and selling process, including creating listings, liaising between buyers and sellers, gathering necessary documents, preparing contracts, and handling escrow accounts and payments.
Aage Jørgensen
Is a founder, former owner, and manager of Yachtbasen ApS, as well as an experienced skipper and yacht broker. He began sailing at the age of 13 and has accumulated over 40 years of hands-on experience, including managing various ship projects and charters across Denmark and the Mediterranean.
Ole John
With over 25 years of experience in international yacht sales within the maritime industry, Ole most recently managed McConaghy Boats’ operations in Europe and is now ready to serve our clients.
Ole’s passion for the maritime world began early with sports sailing and has since led to thousands of nautical miles logged across Scandinavia and Southern Europe in a wide range of sailboats and catamarans. He has extensive experience with high-end yachts and project sales, particularly in the Mediterranean, and has built a vast network of professional colleagues worldwide.
